yep, i love those two things.

yesterday the family and i took a "spontaneous" (i'm choosing to believe so, although no one ever tells me anything so it was probably planned for months) trip to west virginia. i have lots of family up there, so we went to visit and celebrate my sweet cousin's birthday. i wasn't thrilled at first, considering the previous night ended with me cleaning out a bridal suite at 1:30 in the morning, but of course it turned out to be a lovely.
i tend to forget how much i love this house until i'm in the act of falling in love with it all over again. the floors are a beautiful old wood, the walls are white, and the windows are big and full of light. its a place that's home to artifacts and antiques, the big good kind of apples, and a little kitty named illie. i sat in the sunroom for most of the afternoon, reading my uncle's old travel journal, planning lunch dates before returning to school, and feeling the breeze and listening to the rain. the perfect end to a perfect weekend.
Well by the looks of it, your little family trip seemed wonderful! I am loving all of your pretty little photos!

ReplyDeleteMy husband's family is from West Virginia and I love visiting them and enjoying all the wilderness around us. I'm sorry your trip had to be right after a long day and night but it sounds like you made the most of it. Family time can be the best time.
