During those microscopic chasms

As I sit here with my laptop half-charged and my nails half-dry, I'm fully convinced that this is the perfect moment to break my blogging hiatus. As one does during such an interlude, I took a break. From writing blog posts, from thinking about potential blog posts, from crafting my life in a "blogable" way, from many of the blogging sisters (i.e. pinterest, and/or anything with "DIY" in it) and from reading other blogs.

I did some amazingly, wonderful, summery things without the notion that uploading photos & writing a few paragraphs were looming over me. I also mostly worked and took summer classes, but more on that later. (The wonderful summery things, not the classes.) Saying that, occasionally in a quiet moment before bed, or during those microscopic chasms between the words of a phone call, or amongst the huffs of a 5 mile run, I thought about this blog. The good, the bad, the what's the points and the why the hells.

Because honestly, blogging is a tad egotistical, isn't it? Like we (bloggers) write and post and write and post about our lives and hope/ sort of expect others to read it.

But, in those little moments over the last two months, I observed the following:

-The amount of followers or comments or hits I received or didn't receive had no affect on my wonderful summery things.
-I still continued to take rich photos of my chaotic, non-crafted life. And still continued to post them. (Instagram, ftw.)
-Aside from school assignments & sweet nothings to the boy, I didn't write. Which has left me now, a short two months later, feeling blocked, fuzzy and static.

So~ (can you guess where this is headed?) Blogging is good for me. Its like, my thing. So yeah, I'm gonna stick around and I'm pretty excited about it. And if you choose to join, well, that's pretty cool.

  1. Nice to see you back and look forward to seeing more posts. I took a long hiatus and I realized the same thing - my blog is my outlet. Mine. So... why not keep writing if it makes me happy and helps keep my thoughts (however inane) clear?
