With the beginning of the year and semester in full swing, I find this little quote to be so appropriate. What a great reminder. That yes, the world does lie waiting to be discovered. Through education, through careers, through our dreams and decisions. Make today memorable.
a note:
Yesterday afternoon I was sitting in my, as my professor likes to call it, "bootcamp for english majors" class filling out a little notecard with basic information about myself. We had to write down our favorite authors, and I found myself writing Cormac McCarthy as one of my choices. I mentioned this in a previous post, but he's the author of one of the books I read over Christmas break. He's the author that made me cry on the treadmill at the gym. How fitting that he also said this little fragment of brilliance.
hmmmm i may just have to check him out.
ReplyDeletehowever i don't like things that make me cry.
good luck this semester!

OMG those notecards. I'm like are you really going to use these or is this just filler? Haha! I think it is cool that you let in a newer author (to you at least) sit at the table with greatest from the past you probably enjoy! I tell people one of my favorite author ever is a woman named Karen Essex and they look at me like i'm an idiot. But it is just because they haven't read her...yet!
