london | winter wonderland

Hi there! How's your week going? I've been full force into exam mode, but I only have one more final left this afternoon and then I'm free to enjoy my last few days without the burden of classwork. Woo! I officially finished up my internship today as well- so strange to think that things are winding down. I was reading over entries in my travel journal earlier from when I first got here. August feels eons now. Its such a bittersweet time: I miss my family and my mountains terribly, but I already miss Bath terribly as well. Whew.

But while I'm off beginning the lasts and ends of things, enjoy a few photos from my time in London with my best friend! This was definitely one of my favorite parts of the day:
After walking around the city, enjoying high tea at Brown's, touring Westminster abbey and shuffling our way through Harrods, Suzi and I were, not surprisingly, pooped. We decided to grab a bite to eat in a small Italian restaurant called Spaghetti House. To anyone who lives in London-- have you been? It was so sweet and intimate and homey. And the food was delicious. Suzi and I split a nutella pizza for dessert. Yeah, a definite highlight.

We were SO FULL afterwards though (like one of those oh crap, what did I just do to my body fulls), so we thought a walk around the city sounded perfect. And to our surprise, we stumbled onto Winter Wonderland!! For those of you who don't know what it is, picture like a huge carnival mashed together with live concerts, market stands & Christmas lights.

Suzi and I just kind of stumbled along, taking it all in: the smell of mulled cider, the familiar hum of buyers making their way through the market stands, the bwoops and zweees as we passed each carnival ride & those Christmas lights- wow. Everyone was there for the sole purpose of enjoying each other's company and the Christmas season. My heart was so content. It was the perfect way to end a perfect day in London.
