weekend

you know when you haven't been near/ talked to someone on a regular basis so the entire friendship becomes a series of catchup lunches and extra long text messages? not that those aren't great or anything, but i feel like the real deal friendships come after both parties are officially "caught up." this weekend was that for me. the after. and it was so needed.
friday i stayed in with my two favorite sara(h)s. we just talked over our teas and cuddled around devil wears prada. which, by the way, is proving to get exceptionally cheesier with time. anywho, after a wonderfully lazy saturday morning, the roommate and i went to get our dowtown fix for a few hours by peeping in and out of thrift stores and grabbing coffee at the infamous hyperion espresso. it was SO freezing outside, but by sitting in the cafe with the sun gleaming in through the giant panes, we were fooled for a while.
that evening i had a sibling date with christian! the olive garden gift certificate that was burning a hole in my wallet seemed to tempt him enough to get off campus with me for a few hours. ;) we went to see the hobbit afterwards. (ahem- his fourth time, mind you.) highlights: snap chatting up a storm, two rounds of photobooth pictures and the so called medium red slushy.

what have you all been up to? i'll be spending the rest of my weekend doing a bit of homework and maybe trying out a new recipe or two. enjoy your holiday tomorrow!

  1. The Hobbit oh man yes
Loved the book, loved the movie.

I really like the idea of having a sibling date. Also, out of curiosity, what's your favorite tea?
I'm more of a coffee Starbucks drinker myself, but now and again I'll occasionally sip a mug of lemon ginseng.

Tomorrow morning I'm hiking with my friends. Afterwards who knows?

    1. I haven't actually read the book, but I need to! I have to say though.. I loved the second movie way more than the first. The sibling date might turn out to be a weekly thing! We loved it. Girl, I've always been all about Starbucks, but I've really been into my teas lately! Twinnings Green Tea with lemon is a definite go to, and I've never had a bad Yogi tea. You'll have to try them and tell me what you think! Also--hiking sounds wonderful! Hopefully you don't freeze! xo
